PETALUMA, California—December 5, 2011—Petaluma’s brand new 52,000 square foot, federally qualified health center on 1179 North McDowell Blvd. has made an immediate impact in Sonoma County leading to it’s recognition as pet_hea_cen_02_bthe Top Medical Project of 2011.

Opened in June of 2011, the new state-of-the-art health center enables the Petaluma Health Center to serve 3,000 more patients a year and provide a more comfortable environment. The previous 15,000 square foot facility was forced to turn patients away due to a lack of space and services. Notably, the new floor plan focuses on reducing travel between departments and providing easy access to complimentary services. The center provides a wide variety of services from family medicine, pediatrics, and dental care to women’s clinics all under one roof.

Each year, the North Bay Business Journal (NBBJ) selects a number of real estate projects to be honored at their annual reception at the Sheraton Sonoma County in Petaluma. Projects were evaluated by the NBBJ staff as well as professionals within the community and selected based on those that made the most significant contribution to the North Bay Community.

““Our patients are telling us their experience with us is phenomenal now, with shorter waiting and the ability to see more clinical staff during each visit, and receiving what they need between visits more quickly” said Holly Butler, Petaluma Health Center’s Director of Community Relations.
