SUNNYVALE, California—September 28, 2012— The enormous, eight-building Moffett Towers Project leads the Silicon Valley commercial real estate market beyond the Great Recession and secures big name tenants earning it the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal ‘s 2012 Best Speculative Deal award.
Beginning in 2007, the massive Moffett Towers Corporate Campus project has made continuous progress in the past 6 years, resulting in the lease of its final building that is expected to be completed in spring 2013. DES Architects + Engineers has worked closely with the Jay Paul Company, a highly respected commercial developer, on creating the 52 acre campus off Highway 101 in Sunnyvale, California. Tenants include Amazon, Motorola Mobility, Hewlett-Packard Co., Plaxo Inc. and other tech giants.
“[Tenants] love the amenities, they love that once they get there they can walk to everything. They love the views” said Phil Mahoney, of Cornish & Carey, Jay Paul’s exclusive leasing agent for the project. “They have nothing but positive things to say.”
The Journal unveiled the awards to a packed crowd at the Fairmont San Jose Hotel on Thursday night. This year’s recognized projects indicated an improving real estate market and gave insights into the most influential deals being made in the quickly growing tech center.
