For this company’s first presence in Silicon Valley, DES focused on designing to their Japanese culture while incorporating design strategies to meet their evolving needs. Utilizing a modular approach, an underlying floor core was created to accommodate future growth without the need for rewiring or other significant upgrades — with this, additional workstations can replace lounge areas to create space for additional team members and vice versa. Suiting different levels of mobility and collaboration, the quick touchdown spaces and break-away areas provide solutions to support individuals and a team-centric environment. To further create an upbeat, productive workplace, DES thoughtfully integrated cafes, an outdoor garden, and an entry fountain. The design advances the companies workplace strategies and balances the change towards a more open environment by providing flexible and diverse spaces.
