DES now has an office in San Francisco! What a pleasure it is to say that. I have overheard clients saying it to other clients and employees saying it to friends and colleagues. The buzz is energizing our whole organization.
OPENING OUR 2ND OFFICE
Opening a new office may be routine for some architecture and engineering firms, but for us, this is a big deal. As the largest architecture firm in Silicon Valley and certainly one of the largest single office firms anywhere, we didn’t enter into this on a whim. We have long attributed our success to a unique culture that fosters a sense of family and a cross-disciplinary approach that enables us to solve the most complex design challenges.
CASUAL & FUN
We’re laying the ground-work for the San Francisco office to support and grow our culture and approach. A diverse mix of architects and engineers are being transplanted from our Redwood City office, bringing deep experience of our brand of service. With new staff being added, our culture will be reinforced by daily exchanges between our interdisciplinary teams.
The design of the new office — similar to what we’ve successfully implemented for many science and tech clients — will encourage this important interaction with a central social space and more intimate break-out areas. With high ceilings and clear glass conference rooms, the office has an open atmosphere where energy and activity flows freely. It’s casual and fun.
With our success so clearly linked to staff talent, we strategically selected an office that’s located atop the Montgomery Bart station. Potential employees living in the East Bay and San Francisco will have easy access to the new office. Young, urban millennials that have long thought they will be a cultural fit with DES may finally now have a location fit with DES. Cool.
All this means we can bring our unique brand of Silicon Valley architecture – crisp, colorful, and collaborative – to the City’s bustling environment. I’m sure that visiting our new office will leave you energized as well, so reach out and schedule a time to swing on by.
