Steve Mincey

With more than 45 years at DES, Steve Mincey brings seasoned leadership to his role as Executive Partner. As the firm’s CEO from 2003 to 2025, he has helped shape the direction of the firm by fostering innovation, enabling professional growth, and advancing a culture of mutual support. His diverse background—spanning surveying, engineering, landscape architecture, IT, and architectural project management—gives him a unique perspective on the building industry and the value of cross-disciplinary thinking. Steve received his MBA from Pepperdine University and continues to have a passion for firm finances.

Steve also remains deeply engaged in the broader profession and community. He modernized the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Health Insurance Trust, extending wellness benefits to more than 100,000 professionals nationwide, and continues to advocate for healthier workplaces across the industry. A longtime leader in San Mateo County’s business community, he serves as a Director and Past Chair of the San Mateo County Economic Development Association. With a focus on emerging trends and evolving industry needs, Steve continues to guide DES and its clients toward opportunity and long-term success.
