Magic Mountain Playground at Coyote Point Park. With a central 18-foot, three-story castle surrounded by six slides, 13 swings, and two dragons, kids can climb, swoop, and fly to their heart’s content. The playground’s 55-foot long metal slide is the tallest in Northern California. DES worked closely with the community, park rangers, and county supervisors to design a space that responded to local desires. The resulting 39,000-sf playground can accommodate 300 children. Its success can be measured by the awards it’s won, the satisfaction of the public agencies that maintain it, or just the smiles and shouts that fill it.
